If you are on TikTok or Reels y’all have probably heard that fire mashup between Kendrick Lamar’s “N95” and Radiohead’s “Everything in Its Right Place” that’s been making waves online made some guy named Dwells. As soon as I heard it, I knew I had to try editing a TikTok video using the slick blend of Kendrick’s lyrics and Radiohead’s hypnotic electronic sound.
I pulled together some footage and photos I already had on my Instagram – mostly my kids, posing, traveling and just vibing out. The mashup track “Take Off Everything” mixes the two songs so well – Kendrick’s silky vocals over Radiohead’s pulsing rhythms. It’s no wonder so many creators are jumping on this trend?
I used the editing program Filmora to cut together my clips. Chopping up the footage to match the beat took some work, but I had fun playing with transitions and effects to get the right flow. After a few tweaks, I ended up with a high-energy TikTok that I think captures the infectious energy of this mashup.
Both Kendrick and Radiohead are legendary, so it makes sense their styles blend together so well. Props to the Dwells who thought to combine these two icons! I can’t get enough of this track and I’m excited to see what other edits people come up with. Definitely search it out on Tiktok and Reels.
