The Vermont Extended Universe: Vermont’s Wild, Plausible Past- Volume 1

VEU-  The Vermont Extended Universe: Vermont’s Wild, Plausible Past

How well do you know Vermont?

What if the Green Mountain State held secret, alternate histories and hidden truths that explain more about Vermont than the maps or your Uncle Frank can?

That’s the idea behind The VEU. It’s a small collection of historical fiction with paranormal twists and an investigator’s journey to piece it all together. Think of it as Vermont’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood—a reimagining of history that’s wilder but more believable all at once. I’m keeping the volumes short to keep the story moving. I will release them in bits and pieces like seasons of TV.

Imagine Vermont without its values: prioritizing efficiency and growth over community, industrialization without balancecorporate influence and consumerismfear and surveillance, and losing connection to place.

In the story, the worlds start to merge. Abigail is charged with plugging the leaks, but the holes are getting bigger and are coming with an alarming frequency.

Abigail George is our guide, a tireless investigator tasked with tracking down leaks from the VEU: an alternate Vermont where the lines blur between folklore, forgotten moments, and things that should never be uncovered. These stories aren’t random; they’re tied to an alternate history and society, reinterpreted, and layered with fiction.

This is for the readers who enjoy world-building. Stories like The Vampires of the Northeast Kingdom or Tsar Island spin what we know about history into something entirely new but strangely familiar. History is incomplete, and fiction provides the incentive to know more.

Volume 1 is available now. The story doesn’t end here. In Spring 2025, Volume 2 will take readers deeper into Vermont’s mysteries.

Download Volume 1 and share it with someone who loves untold histories or speculative fiction. If you like what-if stories with a touch of X-Files and David Lynch, that’s where my interests are.  You don’t have to believe in alternate universes to see their value. You just have to be open to the possibility that the past is bigger than you think.

A Little Too Dark

A Little Too Dark

Welcome to Middletown Middle School, where the unexplained is just another subject on the schedule. When fourteen-year-old Sam inherits a mysterious box of stories from Walter, a ninety-two-year-old neighbor who passes away, he uncovers nine chilling tales spanning over 150 years. Each story reveals another dark secret about Kansas's most enigmatic school - a place where janitors serve eternal contracts, mascots come alive, and even the school bus might be haunted. From Civil War deserters to robot uprisings, from ghostly face painters to mysterious creatures lurking in the woods, these interconnected stories paint a portrait of a school that's much more than just brick and mortar. It's a place where the impossible becomes probable, where the past never truly dies, and where every strange occurrence leads back to the same shadowy halls. Perfect for fans of Goosebumps and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, this anthology weaves together horror, history, and heart in a uniquely midwestern tapestry of terror. Step through these haunted halls... if you dare.
